Kolkata - the "dirty" idle book-worms infested with "mad" writers. Keep Away from germs

Books, Books and Books and the Kolkata Book-lovers violent rampage on the books !.Welcome to vintage KOLKATA BOOK FAIR ....My first visit after settling down here in the last year. To know the soul of Kolkata, there is no better place than a walk through the arteries of Melan Mela Ground where the annual bookfair event is hosted by the Guild.. My family promised we would just flip through not more than a few books and return in a couple of hours,OMG! Something strange happened and in no time excitement of youthful days returned on our weakening bones, moved from stall to stall to pick those those rare publications and some popular re-prints. Interesting Stalls were put up by Bangladesh,UK,USA, Argentina, Turkey,Vietnam and a few other countries. All the big time publishers in Bengali, English and Hindi had their big-time stalls, though discount was not that attractive. The popular Little Magazine section was large and books were as diverse as the diversity of the world. Here are a few pictures from "mutho-phone" (mobile). If you are lucky you may meet the writer of your dream and get your books autographed. Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and discussions that take place at book corners . If there is one place that can be called the temple of the learners, the social researchers and the book-worms, it has to be one and only KOLKATA BOOK FAIR and associated Kolkata Literary Fest(KLF). But I have one regret that this time I could not meet in person celebrated author Ruskin Bond, Today is the last day of the fair..If you love book, you will not be disappointed. Here are the few images for those who would like to , but cannot visit the Fair
